Match Reports

Stratton Youth U10s travelled to Marlborough for their first game of the season. With both teams fielding strong line ups the game was end to end with some fantastic passing moves from each side resulting in a very close first two quarters. Idris Thomas-Jones was as immense as ever in the centre of the field and was ably supported by the defensive pairing of Archie Walker and Sam Potter who made a number of important interceptions. Dylan Morse and Jaden Wiltshire were very effective on the wings with both showing great pace and ball skills at times while Fin Marshall nearly scored his first goal for the club with a clever back heel. Ez Allen scored to draw the U10s level with a great close range finish before taking on goalkeeping responsibilities where he made a couple of important saves. Goals from Fin Stratford and Louis Kingsbury meant the U10s went into the last quarter with a one goal lead. With a couple of injuries the team had to go to a makeshift formation and were unfortunate to relinquish the lead. The team can feel justifiably proud of their performance in the first three quarters with some fantastic moves and tracking back. Idris was player of the match for his constant running and team spirit for volunteering to go in goal at the end.
