About Us

Stratton Youth FC was formed in 1975 and, since then, thousands of youngsters have been supported by the club. The club is run by a group of dedicated volunteers giving up a great deal of time to ensure that the club provides an engaging, fun experience for boys and girls. Many players start their footballing experience with Stratton Youth and continue all the way up to the under 18’s age category. Our fundamental aim is to provide an enjoyable activity where each child improves their footballing skills but also develops their understanding of the importance of playing by the rules, team work and social interaction. We want to support those who wish to perform at a high level but also ensure that everyone who attends training or matches comes away with a love of the game.

Regardless of the result it is important that each game is played in the right spirit and that each member remains positive towards playing for the club. We want to ensure every member of the team loves football as much as we do and understand that there are lots of different personalities who will react to different situations in different ways. Whether it be someone playing for us for the first time, or someone who has been with us since the minis, we want to continually develop their footballing and social skills. Our teams are renowned for their excellent behaviour at matches and we encourage all spectators to remain supportive of both our team and the opposition. We often receive positive feedback from opposing teams about the friendly environment we create when they play us and we are proud of this.

The club has achieved the milestone of becoming a 2 star FA accredited organisation which means that we are now recognised by the FA as being a club that not only adheres to the principles laid down by Football Association but is actively working to progress in all areas. As we are always hearing there are a wide range of activities that young people can follow and football has to compete like never before. To this end Stratton Youth has to continue not only to stick to our guiding principles but to develop an attractive proposition through excellent and fun coaching and creating a good environment for development. This hopefully will lead to less hours in front of a screen and more spent outside embracing all the skills that come from being a member of a sports club.

We offer two types of membership: Full at £130 and social at £80 a year respectively. Full allows players to attend training and matches while social is aimed at those who just wish to come to the training sessions. Matches are normally played on Sundays and take place in and around Cirencester and Swindon. Training for each of the teams can be confirmed vis our contact page so please get in touch and download our parent handbook to learn more.
